Hi, I'm waiting for some rock sliders to arrive. Given my general juvenile impatience, I'm wondering if I should go ahead and remove the factory running boards in the meantime. I was about to do it, but then started thinking that they provide some protection even though they will bend if you drop them on a rock. I guess they also provide some block against road stuff and water and mud splashing up. Should I just wait until the sliders arrive? I'm getting NYTOP ones that have a profile that has some space on top like the running board, just not quite as wide.

Thanks for thoughts on it.

100% Keep them on. If you are still going to be off roading or anything, I would rather damage a running board versus a rocker panel. Fixing a rocker panel is way more expensive than a running board.
