I received my 2026 OT about 45 days ago. It came with Rock Rails which look cool but given the height of the vehicle, it is a big step to get in and out. I'm afraid my seat and especially the plastic cover over the seat controls will not hold up as I have basically sit on the side and slide in and out. I wanted to switch my rock rails to a power running board similar to what I had on my Tundra. I called my dealer and they are telling me it can't be done as there is no way to wire it adding that it has to come from the factory pre installed.

I would appreciate any suggestions. My second option would be to installed fixed running boards, but I do like the auto ones so much more.

Thanks

The only automatic solution is through Ebay at the moment. Lexas wants $10k+ per side for the OEM Lux+ boards so it's fair to say there hasn't been much interest in going that route.

Maybe consider Westcott Rock Rails. I did this exercise already, that was my solution. And I really like them, plenty of flat area to use a step.

Unfortunately there aren't any reputable brands making powered steps for these yet but I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Amp Research does in the future. If you end up opting for a good fixed step, feel free to reach out and we'd love to help in any way we can!
