I recently installed the NYTOP front hybrid bumper, and 4 Baja Designs S2 lights. Each pair of S2s have a 30A fuse and relay in the wiring harness. I was planning on cutting the Baja harness (not using their switch, relay or fuse) and hooking the lights up to the Aux1 switch, which has a 40A fuse. Considering I will be wiring all 4 up to the same switch, are there any issues with doing so?

I did this and it worked fine.

edited: regarding the NYTOP hybrid bumper install. curious how difficult the install was and if removing the OEM parts destroyed them, like the lower middle section of the bumper, seems a tight fit to access the clips behind those grill slots. I'm also considering doing this same mod.

Thanks all! Lights hooked up to Aux1 and working great!

It was not too bad, but getting to those clips behind the grille was a pain and took a lot of time. I finally realized you can get your arm up behind the crash bumper, and get them from there.

I am planning on posting a review of my install experience with the bumper and lights, which was good overall. My off-road rig has a Dissent front and rear bumper, and the difference in quality is massive. The NYTOP is a good bumper for cosmetics, but I have found a few issues with their QC process. The side pieces of the bumper did not line up with the center bumper (the angles are slightly different), the "gap" washers were too small to fit the bolts they supplied through them (so I had to grind the out a bit), and the mounting solution for the lights was not well thought out. I really question the need for the gap washers...I have not seen that on a bumper before. They also should have created a better mount for the lights which was tailor cut for the S2s so that there were not large gaps. If it was a matter of cost, I guarantee people would pay for different flush mount brackets (similar to what you select when purchasing a Dissent bumper). I realize the buyers are different between Dissent and NYTOP, and that you get what you pay for, but I do think they could do a couple of small things to make their product better.

Again, overall, I am pleased with the bumper and would recommend it as a low-cost option for aesthetic purposes.
