15k Service

So, had the first oil change at 10k miles, after the initial tire rotation at 5k. Now my OT+ is telling me it requires service at just over 15k. I thought that was curious, so I googled and was told it was an oil/filter change. Not sure I understand. It was not important to change it after the initial 5k miles, but now I’m due one 5k miles after the initial oil change? That does not really make sense. If it needs the oil/filter changed every 5k miles, def need it after the first 5k (break in period).

The car is set to remind you service at every 5K miles. You can turn that notification off. Oil change is recommended at every 10K increment. I think every Lexus vehicles do this 5K reminder.

I'm taking mine in tomorrow for the 15k service. I'll be paying for an oil change out-of-pocket. I'm going to change every 5k for the life of the vehicle.

I do this for all turbo engines. Even at 20k miles a year, the price difference is only the cost of 2 annual oil changes.
