I want to share my experience and get your opinion.
I did my first service and asked for an oil change in Watertown Lexus. I'm doing every 5k. My first two services are included, but the oil change at 5k is not. It cost a little more than $100, but the service specialist waived the fee because the service took longer than expected. Excellent service and a nice waiting area. I was working and didn't care about the wait.
I have the (in)famous roof rack. It creates a vibrating noise around 30 mph. They insulated the roof rack, but the noise continued. I contacted the service specialist and she offered to bring it back, which I did. I drove with the technician and he offered to work on adding more insulation. It was that or removing it. He said many people goes with the latter, but I use the roof rack for skiing and camping.
They kept the car while adding more insulation, but it did not remove the noise. At least I had a beautiful RX loaner while waiting.
The roof rack came with the car. It's an expensive one so I'm torn about replacing it. Has anybody found a better solution to the roof rack noises other than getting a different one?
