Attempted robbery 2026 P+

I woke up at 5am this morning and saw I had an alert on my Lexus app that the hood was opened. As I got ready for work I went to my car and saw the left passenger window was destroyed and a neighbor came out to tell me he saw two masked individuals attempting to steal my car. He was able to fend them off by making a scene and called the cops. The couldn’t break the driver window…..only caused it to crack. I guess were trying to disable the alarm.

Unfortunately, it rained overnight so the broken window let a bunch of water into the car as well. Looks like I definitely have to get an immobilizer now!

Truly does I literally got the car a month ago and to make matters worse car won’t start and there’s a slew of malfunctions being displayed so I had to call for a tow truck.

Sorry this happened to you. I can’t imagine your frustration and anger over this. I've just had a IGLA System fitted to my 24 GX550. This was fitted by an Ernies Automotive Electrical in Tinto Falls. More for piece of mind. As I keep reading of various GX's being stolen.
I hope you can get it repaired sooner than later.

I was worried as well, I think an immobilizer is going to be my next purchase as soon as I get my car back. Cannot take any more chances specially in NYC.

NYTOP makes a Cat cover/skid plate that is easy to attach if that is also a worry. Looking under the car - someone with a wheel cutter in a couple of mins can cut off both catalytic converters.

Yeah, I installed that the day I picked up my car. It's way too easy to slide under this thing and access the cats.
