Disabled the seatbelt chimes

My dealer wouldn't due to corporate policy so I went and found a cheap OBD2 scanner off Amazon:

Downloaded the Carista app and you're good to go. I also turned on the feature that allows you to roll down the windows and open the sunroof with a long press of the unlock button.

Handful of other options are accessible as well but these were the ones I was interested in. The dealer already turned off the fake engine noises for me at the last visit. If you're in the greater Houston area I'm more than happy to help you out while I'm on my free trial from Carista.

Does it let you turn off the parking support brake alert permanently. I turned the feature off but get the alert telling me it’s off every time I turn the car on.

Quick fix for that annoying chime!

So funny thing. I too find that seat belt alert annoying… I had thought to silence it as well, and added it to my list of things to have programmed at my next dealer visit.,,

But then .. …. I rethought my decision… at the end of the day.. the chime works.. In order to make it shut up - I put on my seat belt to quiet the “bing bong”…

The secondary seatbelt chime that comes in any vehicle that I drive(and won’t turn off) is that of my grown kids who consistently chime in when I get behind the wheel - “dad seat belt..”

I developed the bad habit of delaying placing my seatbelt on SWAT (mostly at trainings) - where deploying from a bearcat or other tactical vehicle, it’s either not an option or the belt slows you down.

Having seen enough major injuries and traumatic fatalities over my 30+ year Emergency Medicine career, my solution to silencing the chime, is simple - I tell myself - “just put on your seatbelt tough guy.”

it’s easy - doesn’t require a dealer’s intervention, and….. may one day save my life ..

Quick addendum:

The one place I can think of when having the seat belt chime disabled is an asset is when slow crawling and popping in and out of the vehicle for spotting purposes..

Would be nice if it disabled from the screen toggles …
