Different kind of firearms talk than what's happened in this thread so far:

I got my GX in July, had it modded in August and now take it off road. Already taken a couple trips, including this one that I've got a teaser for and full video series in work:



Great vehicle for loading up with steel targets and taking out in the middle of nowhere. Payload and interior dimensions are great. Only knock is how the rear seats fold up, but I can deal with it.

What glass are you running ?

I wish the back area under the false floor was bigger... they could have made it much more spacious back there

There is a lot of space down there. I have photos somewhere. I’d like to open it up down there. Basically cut away the OEM plastic trays and design my own. Probably just line the underlying body metal with felt.

Been in the market for a Springfield Echelon since they came out. Looking to build something similar to this if/when I pick one up.

Anyone in CA have their CCW? How was process? I’ve had my application filled out for a while but haven’t submitted.

I do…. Live in Santa Clara county…. Took 8 months…. But this was before you needed to provide references. I would expect a year. It’s not that hard, just be patient.

Definitely an interesting solution. Based on seller description - looks like you tighten the orange screws to push snug up against the cool box ‘wall’.

When installed, im curious if the cool box safe can still house 4 coke zeros for long drives…

From the look of it water bottles will no longer fit once safe is installed. Perhaps 12 oz cans will fit without an issue..

I asked the seller for center console safe dimensions vs stock cool box via eBay messaging - will report back.

Okay - Bluegill ordered a set of $135 knobs, and Yellowlab followed suit ordering a set and building a foundry in his garage .. it’s my turn to take one for the team.

Just ordered a cool box safe on Ebay. Should be here next week. Will install and give everyone feedback.

The real reason I got it was so that no one steals my Coke Zeros … will report back if it still fits cans of Coke and an XDS 45.

*** It’s listed between $75 - $92 on eBay - but seller will take $70 if you make an offer. (Shipping is included).. really not too bad of a deal if the quality is decent..

But until I have it in hand, I’m not sure that it’s worth that - and it’s unclear if the mounting will be adequately secure or large enough for a compact firearm. TBH - I probably won’t use it for this purpose, as for me the mounting isn’t adequately safe and secure for a firearm.

But I will let everyone know once it’s installed.

It took me 3 months to get my CCW. It was all done on line except for the live fire training and the interview with the police chief. That was 2 years ago. I just renewed it and it took 60 days including the live fire. Figure on around $900 for the cost. This year your CCW in CA has to be renewed every year.

I carry a SA Hellcat Micro. I just keep it on me when I drive. I have a Truck Vault in the back of the
GX for my comp. Shotgun so if I need to secure my CCW weapon I lock it up in there. My micro fits in the cool box but I would be afraid of the condensation. Also the cool box safe doesn't seem like it would be secured very well.
Just my opinion.
