I got my 24 OT+ used with 2K miles a couple months ago. I've been experiencing some of the same quarks and appreciate everyone sharing their experiences. I have been getting from 15mpg towing and city driving to over 20mpg on the freeway without towing. I have noticed the calculated RANGE is almost always the same, about 270 to 280 miles upon refilling. I always reset and clear my data every fillup. At 20 mpg this should be high 370+ to almost 400 miles. It doesn't seem to actively calculate Range based on actual driving like my GMS denali or Honda Pilot.... Does anyone know the logic being used here, or what I might need to do to get more accurate and real time mileage range?? Also, we took two trips of about 600 miles each, and have gotten 3 windshield chips so far, has anyone else experienced a lot

of windshield chips in a short time? Thanks all...

The calculation doesn't include the 3+ gallons of reserve fuel, so it's based on 18 gallons. I'm lucky to get 15 mpg around town, even if not towing. I've never gotten over 20 on the highway (I drive 75-80 mph).

Thanks Rick, but I still think there's a problem as 18x20 should show over 350, not 280 miles range, ours seems to never really change more than 10 miles all around 270 to 280.??

Are you just resetting the odometer/tripmeter or the fuel MPG history calculation (in vehicle settings)?

Yes, I've been resetting all three

I've found it fairly accurate, so I'd guess that your aggregate mpg (mix of city and highway) is closer to 15 than 20. I do notice that the estimated range doesn't change that quickly, as you're noticing also.

In any case, I want a bigger fuel tank!

I got about 5 chips, and one crack that literally happened while I was sitting on a parking lot, Driver’s side right under the wiper but the HUD on the windshield. I heard that it was a common problem with this GX, I went to Autozone got the windshield repair kit and it hasn’t spread. Has been a few months so far. The windshield is almost like a Jeep squared up right, gets chips all the time, I also noticed the paint chips very easily as well.

314 miles is my record after a fill up. My mileage indicator stays between 15.2 - 16.2. The windshield is a rock magnet! two chips within 90 days of owning the truck. Two weeks ago the tiniest of rocks hit the windshield and 7 days later it's split all the way from top to bottom. It ran 8" with in an hour. I have 3 months left on my inspection, so I have 3 months to get new glass. I probably won't get another chip until the new glass is installed. lol.

I have a Premium + (no big tires). From the computer - I average 19.5mpg, mostly highway and not towing. My range is usually 355 to 360. However, the next fill-up I'm going to calculate the mpg myself. The 3 gallon reserve is B.S. in my opinion. I bought the car with a 21 gallon tank and expect to use 21 gallons. I rarely use even 17 gallons. I would love to keep driving it until I run out to see how much of the gas can really be used.

Please a bigger fuel tank!!!

The 3 gallon reserve is there for the fuel pump. The pump isn't designed to run without fuel. Fuel lubricates and cools the pump. If you run the truck out of fuel, you take the chance of damaging the fuel pump and injection system. I would HIGHLY recommend you not run it out of fuel on purpose.

Just got our first chip and it started to spread quickly. Did a repair and it is holding but really annoying for a brand new truck. Regardless of windshield angle, the glass seems weak.

On my P+ with stock wheels/tires, getting 17 in town mostly and 20+ on highway. I have put on a lot of highway miles since delivery mid January with 11k miles on currently. No windshield issues and that is with salt on highways as well during the colder months. Top range I have seen is 312 and that has been pretty consistent. Didn't start that way when I first bought it so it must be considering history. I have not reset anything in that respect.

I’m debating ordering an oem windshield just to have as a spare as I feel these will never be easy get from
The dealership

I noticed that yesterday, that when I fill up, it doesn't give me a range based on historical usage. But I also noticed that it DOES gradually adjust your miles to E to reflect current fuel usage and current fuel economy. When I filled up my wife's Lux + yesterday (we had gotten roughly 21+ mpg) it said I had like 320 miles to E. But as I drove, the sum of the miles traveled and the miles to E gradually crept up, and was at about 360 by the time we got home.
