Have any of you installed the Westcott sliders on a non-Overtrail model? (1 Viewer)

Considering the WD sliders for my '25 P+ and wanted to see if anyone on here has gone through the install. From what I've read, the Overtrail models have the holes threaded for an easy bolt-on install, whereas the non-OT models have the holes, but require what WD refers to as "blind bolts" to complete the installation.

I was curious to see if anyone has gone through the non-OT installation and how difficult/easy it was.

For reference, here is a link to the sliders (I'm considering the 20 degree kick-out version without plates):

Thanks.

I just installed them on my P+. 6 blind bolts per side. Problem was, the bolt would only fit in 2 of the 6 holes. I ended up having to get a step bit to enlarge the holes. The other challenge I had was tightening the nut, as a flat head is needed to keep the bolt from turning..flat heads suck and there’s not much room for the top bolts. I did struggle with alignment on the passenger side, drivers side was much easier.

I will note, quality of the rails seem good, no issues. But also want to make aware, the surface area for stepping seems to be less than that of the OEM side steps. At least wife and kids noticed it right away.

Install took over 3hrs. Most of it was enlarging the holes and the struggle I had with passenger side. I also didn’t have my electric ratchet at the time so using the step bit for tip holes was a bit challenging. FWIW- found it helpful to mark the side the bolt that needs to face down. They do have a small dot from WD but it’s hard to see.

Thanks for the reply! Glad to hear you successfully installed it. Did you have to enlarge the holes because the alignment was off or just because the size of the holes were too small for the blind bolts?

And lastly, any pics of the whole car after install? Would be great to see how they look!

Holes were too small. Jeff from Westcott mentioned paint might just need to be removed, but for my case I actually had to use the step bit to enlarge them. Don’t forget to paint the drilled part as well! HD only had step bits by Ryobi and Milwaukee, Ryobi being a lot cheaper.

I’ll get pics up later this evening.
