Hey folks. Thanks for letting me join the forum. Pretty excited about Lexus bringing the GX550 to Oz. Even more excited that it will be rated to tow 3.5T (just a touch under the 8000lbs) but there is no way they could allow this to tow more than an LC300 Landcruiser. Have been a Jeep Grand Cherokee enthusiast and have owned three of them since about 2004 and still currently own two of them. Still love the 2009 WH (WK in the states) but will be happy to say bye bye to the WK (WK2 in the states) once the GX hits town.

Details on the GX for Australia are still pretty thin on the ground and I would be astounded if pricing matches the USA (allowing for exchange rate) but one can only dream. We will be looking at the Overtrail+ as our offroad capable tourer.

Welcome to the forum @Damo122 . The tow rating is a nice feature. What do you plan on towing?

Thanks. We have a hybrid caravan, LXV 4.7 (15'4ft) Hybrid Off-Road Caravan — Mountain Trail RV - Off-Road Caravans & Campers has an ATM of 2800 which is well within the capability of the GX. The squared design of the GX and the van will work well together I think.

Oh yeah, that will look great behind the GX! That's a nice floorplan, especially with all the slide outs.
