Love my Overtrail+ too
The one feature that ticks me off is having to turn off the cross traffic alert everytime the key is cycled on.
Other than that I have learned to turn other features off that I don’t want on. View attachment 6010

What other things do you turn off? I receive my atomic silver OT+ this week. I have heard from friend that owns own about the cross traffic alert. I’d love to know what other Nannies I should disable. Thanks

pretty sure it's the lock button, not unlock. Why would you want to remote start you car and unlock it?

….but I've gotten used to touching the "lock" portion of the door handle after getting out.

Locking by this method the side view mirrors will not automatically fold. You have to lock via the key fob to activate this function.

My side mirrors fold when I lock by touching the lock sensor on the door handle.

I'd recommend you give things a try and only turn stuff off when you find them unhelpful or intrusive. Setting up your car based on what another person finds annoying may not be helpful to you.

I personally didn't immediately turn off the driver monitor, despite seeing people complain endlessly about it. But after trying it myself, I found I couldn't even take a drink out of a straw for a few seconds while driving, despite having a clear view of the road... my hand and the cup were blocking the monitor.

Thanks ended up disabling most of the stuff. I wish I could keep front pedestrian crosstrack permanently off. I finally found where to disable the driver monitor. I'm pretty tech savvy and the GX menus have been more frustrating to set up compared to my BMW that has arguable more tech in it.

Since the OT+ is my 9th Lexus, three of which were LS sedans, I am used to the controls and I assure you it is not as complicate as it may first appear.

Your Dislikes: agree with 1, 4, 5, 7.

Cruise Control - I really dislike it. Would have highly preferred a traditional stalk with 2 functions from my other vehicles. My ‘17 GLE43 has the “double-notch” up or down feature to the next nearest 0 or 5 mph increment (up to 50, then 55, etc; down / slower does same thing). I really miss that. Plus, how fast it responds depends on which drive mode it’s in which is really cool. And the other function..from the 22 Sequoia I traded in, was simply to push the stalk button once to turn on DRCC, but hold it in and it gave me traditional CC. I highly prefer traditional as it still forces me to pay attention.

Cool Box - yep, not a good choice to force on buyers when there’s barely any interior storage.

Gas Tank - maybe someone will address soon with 3rd party add on. In meantime I’ll plan to carry some extra cans while towing and then exploring around some. My first measured fill-up is 20.3. Mostly varying highway speeds. Roof rack removed.
I have set the Custom Drive Mode to power for the engine; suspension to comfort..works well in town for me. But I’m barely using the throttle to get what I want..

Auto Climate Controls - confusing for me. I think I have found the option to ignore unoccupied seats when selecting Auto Max Heat, etc. One odd note: the rear seat warning is apparently coming on due to a towel on the seat cushion and/or a light jacket draped over the seat back. I believe there’s an option to turn that off too….

A new nit I discovered yesterday: while driving back and forth on a local snow covered dirt road in 4L (trying to test if possibly that will loosen up the EKDSS with enough usage which, in turn, may address the bit of highway vibration I may be noticing…) I had non-stop notifications on the driver gauges over and over like “VSC Disabled”, etc.. I hit the Okay button, I tried a couple different MTS modes, I used Drive and Manual shifting. Bizarrely could not get the notifications to go away. I know there must a setting..but where?

I just got my Atomic Silver / Black OT+ from Sewell Dallas 3 weeks ago. Are you gonna go to Barnwell or Bridgeport or both? I'm gonna head up to Bridgeport once I get my GX broken in. I only have 340 miles on it - I don't drive much - so it'll be a while.

Sorry for slow reply! Yes, I've already been out to Bridgeport once. I am going to the Toyota Jamboree in May. It is at BMRA. Should be fun, i haven't been there in years. I definitely plan to take it offroad. Nothing crazy, it's still my daily driver. But some light off-roading, camping, overlanding.
