So the Lexus service dept sent me a text saying they have a fix for the hood flutter and they ordered the parts.
Anyone know the official fix?
Also having his service dept research the 1inch lift on 2025s see if it’s possible.
Many different opinions in many forums I’m just curious what the answer will be.

My local dealer "fixed" my hood flutter by taking it to a body shop where they glopped more glue in there. It improved the flutter problem but didn't fix it. I also do believe that the flutter has come back a bit in the time between the fix and now, as if perhaps the adhesive is failing or separating over time.

These hoods need a mechanic fix.

Hood Flutter Investigated and Corrected

I have an appointment with Lexus next Friday for the hood fix. Based on the below.

I went for my 5k service and decided to address the open TBS. Dealer couldn't replicate the brake noise (that I only get from time to time), couldn't replicate the transmission slag from 1st to 2nd but were able to replicate the hood flutter. After which the service department checked and said there is a nationwide shortage for the kits with an undetermined ETA... Unbelievable!

I have an appointment for the fix for the flutter this week on Friday. Will report.

Just had the modification done for the hood flutter. The truck was in for 3 days. Drove on the highway at 75 with winds around 45 MPH, very little flutter. Marked improvement from before when it looked like the hood was going to become airborne.

Finally, got mine completed - was the first GX in my dealer to do this and they had to keep it a bit longer saying that the epoxy was still gummy after 24hrs curing... Ended up breaking a tab on the wiper cowl which they ordered (nationwide backlog)... Saw improvements this morning in traffic but need to take it up in speed to feel better.

This is the fix. They have the body shop add adhesive "mastic seal" to re-glue the hood skin to the frame. I had mine done in Chicago in January before driving to Arizona. I put 5000 highway miles (80+ mph) on it since the fix. The fix made it a lot better (it was unbelievable how much it moved before - and a very distracting issue with dancing reflections while driving at high speed), but I don't think it will ever be as good as it should be because the hood skin is just too thin of a gauge in comparison to other high end vehicles using Aluminum for hood to save weight. Haters will say to "get over it", "every car with aluminum hood has flutter", blah blah blah, but imo its a design issue.

I had mine done at Lexus of Arlington last week. It was their first attempt and afterward on the second day, I noticed that there was an ever slight dent in the middle. I saw the light reflect off of it. Mine is an Incognito so everything shows. I complained and the Service manager promised to make it right. We'll see on Monday... Very pissed to be honest as I baby this truck lol.
