If you had the opportunity to write to Lexus regarding factory changes for your GX 550, what would you change or add?!!!

Oh yeah. Forgot about the tumble second row seats. Rob you of space. need fold flat seat backs like the Gen 5 4Runners.. On my 25 OT i fold the second row seat backs flat, don't tumble. At least this gives me some sort of surface to stack stuff.

I'll go first:

1) I’d like more factory color options.
2) A larger fuel tank—at least 25 gallons.
3) More powerful, "smart" headlights.
4) Air suspension.
5) Slightly more powerful brakes.
6) A more user-friendly display interface; I’d love to see AI integration—something that greets you when you get in.
7) A more robust companion app—one that wishes you a happy birthday, or adjusts the vehicle settings differently depending on whether it’s raining or sunny.
And finally:
8) Automatic door locks that engage on their own, and unlock automatically as you approach or walk away from the vehicle.

What do you guys think? @LEXUS
my wishlist is a petty issue, the GX is awesome for what I need and expected, and agree with all the prior posts. The only thing that bugs me is the lack of good interior accent lighting in the OT trim. Specifically the cup holders at night are invisible. My wife's Jeep GC has cup holders that are super illuminated at night and other interior lighting accents that pale the GX for night driving. First world problems, lol.

Wow! These contributors are really squared away with their suggestions. I especially like those regarding cup holders and center console expansion. But my biggest request for improving an otherwise terrific SUV must be about the climate control system. Why build rocket science into something as basic as hot/cold and fresh or recirculating air?
These are simple things that everyone views a little differently. And it shouldn’t take reading a manual to accomplish a comfortable temperature.
There are dozens of threads with folks either expressing their frustrations with it, or trying to explain how they’ve adjusted theirs to their satisfaction.
Simple works just fine, even in a luxury vehicle.
The only other suggestion I would make is to design the windshield with a five degree more acute angle that could bounce most rocks off without cracking it. Or, at least offer the bug guard for the hood in North America. You already built it and sell them in Australia. Just send a boat load our way too. It might even help with the hood flutter issue.
Besides those things, I love my GX550. Just give the engineers a day off and bring in one good ol’ boy and two ladies with Prada bags. Perfection is achievable!
I simply can’t fathom how the creators of the Sienna minivan with tons of cup holders and storage would let the GX out of engineering with such poor storage.

1. Larger fuel tank
2. If you can’t get a wireless charger that works, leave it out for more space.
3. Manual climate knobs

Edit to add: V8 no turbos

OK, I have 5,000+ miles on the GX now. Adding two items htat I left off intially. Definitely a larger fuel tank. I have the OT+, and it is absolutely stupid at the highest level to have deleted the rear air vents in the headliner. My daughter has the Lucury plus and her vehicle cools off in about 30 seconds. Mine takes at least 5 minutes. My dog is always with him and he is sweating int he back seat until the entire cabin cools down. Granted the remote start is nice but I dont always remember to turn it on……Yes, I think about other things as well as my GX! LOL!

I agree with what everyone said and would like to ask one more:
Toyota, could you please add an electric fuel door instead of the cable release one?
Agreed! Somehow the cable dislodged from the pull after wiring my dashcam. A great deal of patience is required for a DIY repair.
