Is it normal for the ac to consume this much gas ? (1 Viewer)

My 14 drops ro 12.2 when using Ac in eco mode, with a flow on and only air directed to driver. This is about 15 percent power consumption just for the ac compressor. I wouldn’t have thought the ac puts this much load on the engine . I’ll do some scientific research and report back

High speed impact 12 percent
Apprentlu blower speed does play a direct role here with blower at 50 percent reducing the mpg hit by 50%
