Hi, my name is Marcos Gamez, I'm Venezuelan, and I live in Miami, Florida. This is my third Lexus GX 550. I love the model; I've owned all three versions. The first was a white GX 550 Overtrail Plus, bought in 2023. I loved it; I even took it out for the storm that hit Chicago that December. It was excellent. Then, with 12,000 miles, someone bought it from me. I got another white GX 550 Overtrail Plus at the end of December 2025. The dealership called me to ask if I wanted to trade it in for the 2025 model, which I did for just $1,000. It's been great; they don't depreciate. Now I have a new silver GX 550 Overtrail Plus, which I want to modify.
I love adventure, driving across the United States, and I also like speed. I have another sports car, and sometimes I go to the track on Fridays. I love the sea, exercising, and nature in general, which is why I love these kinds of vehicles so much.
I'm going to post some pictures of some places I've been. Of course, not hardcore off-roading; I'm more of a casual driver in that sense. I've owned Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, and I feel like they're not meant for that kind of off-roading. I did take them on dirt roads, through water, and in sand, though. I feel like the Lexus GX 550 is for that. Note: I'd never owned a Lexus before because I didn't like its oversized, grotesque grille. It looked like something a grandpa would drive, in my opinion. Even the larger LX 600 or 700, I like its technology, but inside and out, it lacks that adventurous feeling. The grille is too big; it doesn't match the overall look, even if you raise the ride height or change the tires. I'll wait until they redesign it. Now, the Lexus does have that adventurous feel. The downside of this SUV, for me, is the fuel consumption. It doesn't last very long, about 300 miles if you're not driving fast, while the Mercedes has more power, and the BMW even gave me 500 miles at full throttle. It's shutting down, I think in the future it needs to be either a hybrid (make sure it's with the V6 engine or a larger gas tank).
