Since meeting up with Yellow lab down in Westlake, I’ve been on a search for the right Molle set up (similar to his) for the right price. YL has a Viking version (super useful, strong and lightweight), but when I looked on line the price was a little further north than I felt should be charged for a single shelf.

While thumbing through older posts on the forum, which I highly recommend for all newer members who have joined in 2026, I came across Tig’s build from 2025. His post included some molle adds to the rear of his vehicle from”cartrimhome” (very similar to Yellowlab’s shelf made by victory.)

I followed the link in his post, where I found their products at 30% off retail. I reached out to the manufacturer and they slapped on an additional 10% off. 🙂 👍🏽…

Here’s the link I used for 30% off on their site - plus an additional 10%…..

I personally I am starting off with the side shelves, storage areas and a single horizontal rear Molle shelf like the “victory” one in YL’s rig. I may add other components if I see the need.

From Tig’s old post - he appeared to be happy with this product: “strong and functional. “ - I will post pictures and my post installation review once completed.

Build philosophy:

Every smiling bright eyed GX owner on this forum wants to add stuff to customize their GX’s - ornamenting something they treasure - ☺️ when I met YL and NoNameX in person I immediately recognized that we all shared that same glimmer! Jonathan (a newer owner on the forum, said it best when sharing about his new purchase and adds -“I love this thing more everyday.” ) - I feel the same! And with each personalized add that bond becomes even stronger.. ☺️

The general philosophy I’m taking as I add features to my GX 550 is 1. limiting the additional weight that I add; 2. Optimizing aesthetics (which are important to me. 3. maximizing both utility and versatility for MY specific needs, and 4. doing the above at the lowest possible cost (both of the adds themselves, and the impact of ANY add on gas consumption.)

Apart from this, I’m living vicariously through all these great builds that surpass my own!

Our old landcruiser is the “heavy additions” rig in our family .. (RTT, heavy custom steel roof rack, and possibly one day front and rear bumpers, rear hitch mounted wheel etc - which I will leave to my son to continue).

I’m keeping my GX - higher speed and lower drag 😉 …

A blessed and productive day to everyone. I’m eager to get out from under my charting and go crawl SLO instead!

Happy and safe 4th everyone - ⭐️👍🏽to another 250 years of preserving and celebrating freedom, pluralism, diversity and democracy ☺️.. 🇺🇸 ..

I'm trying to figure out what I need to order from there.. I want the side panels with baskets, the molle panel that's touching the roof and the upper shelf. I don't want the lower shelf..

Their email address is on their website. Reach out directly tell them specifically what you want. And they will get you taken care of along with the discounts that they will apply. That’s what I had to do because it was confusing to me as well.

They said they’ll be cleaning up their website to make it a little more user-friendly when I spoke to them last.

I’m waiting for a few more parts to arrive before I do the full install that I was gonna do this weekend. I will post pics and reviews when it’s all done.

Just heard back from Cartrimhome. My parts arrive in 1 more week, and they got back to me and shared that they are cleaning up the ordering page for these cargo area adds for the GX OT / OT plus models. 👍🏽

I’m very excited to get them installed 👍🏽🙂

Cartrimhome cargo Molle products - aesthetic, affordable and functional.

I like the look and design of these parts over other models. The rectangular cut out in the center of the side molle panels allows for soft items to be squeezed into the space behind them. Also the side baskets seem to augment the utility of the side spaces.

I think these products feature a few superior design elements compared to the more $$$$ Viking products - IMHO.

I’m not sure that the ceiling piece (aka “top shelf”) adds any real value if you already get the upper shelf which offers a molle surface in close proximity to the ceiling. My thought is one or the other - but likely not both.

That said I have both going in… plus the lower shelf.

More to follow after my install.

Here’s an image they just posted will all of the different cargo pieces labeled.

I’m curious to see how the integrated camping table mounts and deploys. Will circle back when I have everything installed 👍🏽

For those that need more storage space but don't need the full racks (or have premium or Lux trim) I just installed these window well storage "walls"

Pricey for what they are, but adds storage in my cargo area and still allows the full use of the cargo area and the 3rd row seats. I have a bigger writeup on these on my Build Page

Sun setting with deer scampering behind me, as I screwed in the final wing bolt on the CTH Molle Cargo System.

Today I installed the top (ceiling shelf), upper shelf, side Molle panels — and the integrated camping table.

Solid high quality cargo Molle and shelving system. Very impressively constructed and exceptional value for money at half the price of other comparable products.

The CTH shelving and Molle system looks great and the center aperture on the sides allows to tuck away soft items behind the side Molle.

Installation took me about 1/2 a day - I highly recommend taking your time to get it just right and watch their installation video a few times. As with all of these systems there is alot of hardware, but the system comes together nicely. Plan about 5-6 hours on your off day.

The installation video is in Chinese with subtitles.

I found watching the installation process in 3 separate sittings made for an easier installation.

Will post more pics during day light .. one of my favorite things about the CTH system is that they sell an integrated camping table. It’s diminutive, but is sturdy and tucks away nicely - Something that none of the other much pricier companies offer!

Along with bags of hardware, they send rolls of cushioning tape, which are intended to line all metal to metal contract points. This intervention was introduced so you don’t hear rattles and squeaks on the trail.

One note there is one piece of 3M tape and screw on stabilization hardware that fits on the LC 250 inner C pillar - but NOT on the GX as the pillar on our vehicles is fabric lined - I think it’s an additional stabilization measure without which does NOT impact the function or sturdiness of the system.

Again it’s a top notch set up for a decent price - 👍🏽👍🏽 two thumbs up.

Awaiting the lower shelf .. which I may combine with a sleep platform / drawer system, as my final interior upgrade.

I will post decent pics during the sunlight.

Here are a couple of better pics of the system - what’s nice is that you can pick and choose what you wish to add to your cargo space build, and NOT break the bank in the process.

Installed one side but realized that I want to install a rearview mirror camera and would need to keep the headliner seam unobstructed, so I held off on the other. It's pretty sturdy but I did have trouble lining some of the holes up... particularly the 4 holding the rear panel extension (that uses different screws). did you have any issue with those?

Thankfully zero installation woes…

From experience when assembling anything with multiple attachment points - early on “leave it loose”

Meaning don’t tighten any of the small screws and attachment screws so you can shift pieces around slightly around to make all the holes line up.

I thought I was going to have the same challenge you described. But everything came together perfectly, and when something didn’t quite line up a little jostle this way or that way and it did.

And I agree (I didn’t know what to expect) - but the product set I received was very complete with extra hardware, and super sturdy.

Again the CTH cargo set - 10/10 product and price!

So another positive I noticed this morning with the CTH Molle system. Previously I thought the top Molle was useless.

However it became apparent today that the top (ceiling) Molle protects the headliner from getting snagged or scuffed from putting things in and off the upper shelf.

So one notable difference between the CTH upper shelf in its highest position is that with the integrated camper table below it - you do loose a little rear view via the rear view mirror which was NOT the case with YL’s Victory 4x4 upper shelf which sits a little higher, giving a smaller amount of vertical shelf space, but greater rear view mirror visibility…

Once my lower shelf comes in, I will switch the camper table to the install BELOW the lower shelf to optimize my view. 👍🏽🙂

Have you considered adding a rearview mirror camera? I’m installing one mainly because I expect the shelf and any cargo on it to block the view in the mirror.

which one?
A lot of people like the Wolfbox. I didn't like the plugs showing so went with the Acumen M4. The Wolfbox has a better front 4k dashcam but I don't care about that.... just wanted a clean OEM looking rearview camera. I'm getting it later this week so will report back after I have time to install it.

Can you purchase the CTH wheel well baskets as a stand alone part? Or are they integral to the CTH side molle? I have a Victory shelf and a single driver side molle. Victory doesn't offer a basket.
