Hi, I recently joined to get some insight into my new 2024 Lexus GX550. Overall, I’m enjoying my new ride, however have been disappointed with a few things, mainly the small gas tank and awful gas mileage (13.9-14.5 Hwy). A few other disappointments on some things you don’t think to check when test driving (cuz they’ve been in every other car I’ve owned)…… there’s nowhere to put my sunglasses, the moonroof doesn’t open and it doesn’t warn me when I’m low on gas. I’ve also noticed a “hitch” when switching gears sometimes.
I’m here to follow along to see if anyone else is experiencing issues and also maybe get some tips : )

Welcome, this is a great place to learn and share about your new truck. I haven't had some of the problems your experiencing. I do agree that the milage is disappointing and the lack of storage in the cockpit is lacking but take it off-roading and you will really love it. Post some pictures.

Welcome! I think you will find this to be a pretty great community.
Definitely check the gas light. I have definitely seen it go off with the semi-standard orange gas pump icon on the dash.
For the mileage, I was getting 13 local and 16 hwy for the first 500 miles, but now I have been getting about 18 combined. I say this to give you a baseline so you can get the most enjoyment out of your truck.
As S SUBERI said, it's a monster off road and in my opinion the trade offs for that are worth it since that's what I was looking for in a vehicle.

Here’s a video of my gas gauge and how it doesn’t display until like 10-12 miles left. Is this everyone else’s experience? This is a problem when I’m traveling and, since we don’t have an auditory warning like EVERY OTHER VEHICLE IN YHE WORLD, I sometimes forget to check my gas level, even ran out of gas which was a nightmare as the system shut down in the middle of the interstate and I couldn’t even turn the steering wheel to get to the shoulder. I also had to take the car in after refueling to “reset” the system…..ridiculous. I’m actually considering selling this vehicle because of this issue alone. I shouldn’t have to stress about low gas after paying $100K for a vehicle, especially when it warns me to check my back seat, open doors and tons of other things I don’t need to know about.
