Like many of you, I have been on the wait list to get an Overtrail for almost a year. I am in the pacific NW (Portland OR. area) where GXs are rare and price gouging is the rule. Since I had lived in S. California for many years, I broadened my search to include Longo Lexus and Lexus of San Diego.
Last thursday my wife and I flew down to San Diego for a wedding. Before we left I texted the sales rep and asked if anything might be available. He said there was one Overtrail plus in the port, but thought it might not leave it for at least a week. He would keep me informed. (They can only start paperwork once a vehicle leaves the port.)
When I didn't hear back by monday afternoon, I checked back. He said nothing new but he would text me early tuesday to let me know if it left the port overnight. I got a text at 5AM- no car yet. then at 6AM he texted back and said be at the dealership at 8:45AM. We hustled over there, finished the paperwork, canceled my airline ticket (wife flew home), and left at 3AM wed. morning back to Washington. As it turned out, I was happy to have the cool box, ML stereo, and messaging seats. These were all options I didn't think I needed or wanted. However after the long drive home, I was very happy to have spent the extra bucks for the plus model.
Sorry for the long winded intro, but wanted to share with you how the stars aligned to finally make this possible. Anyway I have an earth/black roof with chateau interior. I was looking for either white, silver, or earth, which happens to be my wife's favorite color.
