Hey guys, I've got a GX550 lux with flush rails. I have been a bit disappointed in the options from the big brands like yakima/thule/etc on heavy duty cross bars for things like a RTT. i have a lot of experience prototyping with CAD/3d printing/small electronics etc, but limited experience working with larger hardware/materials like metal.
is it a crazy idea to design robust/heavy duty cross bars of my own that mount to a naked roof/flush mounted bars and having them fabricated on SendCutSend? (SendCutSend: Custom Sheet Metal Fabrication)
the best part would be hopefully inspiring others to design their own parts of their own that could also be shared with other enthusiasts.
