You would think with all the owners dumping the roof rack, they would stop installing them on new vehicles.

Buyers dumping the racks won't have an impact as long as Lexus is still getting $1500/vehicle for this easy add-on accessory. It will be the loss of sales or purchasers requiring dealers to remove the racks, and discount the price, that will be noticed.

The roof rack and some other add-ons are a total scam by Lexus to milk the buyers. You would have to wait a long time to get the desired configuration.
