Just noticed the plug hanging down under my driver side running board anyone know what its for and where it plugs in?

it almost right under the driver front door and i do have the factory running boards that came with it. I can't see a place to plug it back intoit's likely for the rear door running board light. If you don't have the boards, it is capped off to protect it from the elements
Maybe the led light if your running boards have the illuminationit almost right under the driver front door and i do have the factory running boards that came with it. I can't see a place to plug it back into
I can check assuming it's easy to uncap. Someone pointed out the lights for the steps have a dimming function, so they're not 0/12v. I assume the power running board circuits are a bit more complicated as they need to start/stop/reverse so it's either an analog signal with some feedback or a constant 12v + canbus controller. If thats the case, I wonder if its a Switched 12V line triggered by the doors opening
I would guess the circuitry of the power steps are along the motors , and they just rely on a signal from the doors .... i wouldnt mind doing some rock lights if i can just plug in right thereI can check assuming it's easy to uncap.
