A few weeks ago my driver display (tachometer) went blank while driving. Almost seemed like it reset, which took about 10-20 seconds to come back on to normal.

I came across a post in the Land Cruiser sub posting an article talking about a recall coming, seems the GX is listed: https://www.autoblog.com/news/toyota-and-lexus-digital-display-recall

Note: this website is one of those that makes you remove ad blocker, I was able to bypass it by going into reader mode.

Curious if anyone else has had this issue happen in their GX?

Haven’t seen the issue, however, I have the recall notice in my Lexus app. When a remedy is available I’ll head to the dealer for the update.

Didn’t realize the notifications had gone out already. Mine doesn’t have it in the app, by chance can you share what it says? Or is there a reference number?

Here you go.

This has happened twice since Aug 2024 in my GX. I do have issues with my music not showing up consistently on the tach tho. Wonder if this would help fix that. Mine will say ‘Audio Off’, or will be missing one component of Artist/Song/Album

Each time it’s happened on yours does it come back fairly quickly?

If I recall on mine everything went black but the MPH listing came back a second or two after then the rest of the screen info came back maybe 15-20 seconds after.

On the infotainment screen, yes. On the tach, no. Usually have to restart vehicle. Sometimes multiple times for it to correct itself.

Happened to me a at about 5K , I have a 2025 Overtrail…. Hasn’t happened again but also at 10k

Just got my recall notice on the app.

Never had an issue until this morning when I started the truck - no main screen display,
not until I cycled the power/volume button.

My gauge cluster has never had an issue - yet.

The recall states 12.3" Combination Meter - is this the gauge cluster or the main large screen?

This is the gauge cluster.

Interesting also an OT and it happened around 5K. Glad to hear you haven’t had it happen again! I’m hoping it was just a reboot of some sort.

It was fast and i was alarmed but it never happened again .... since the truck has internet access, I figured it was some type of over the air update that had a bug. Hopefully it doesn't become a normal thing

Thanks for the future recall information. The blank screen happened to me one time last week on my 2025 Overtrail at 4200 miles. All of a sudden, the infotainment screen went blank while driving and the radio and apple carplay navigation app stopped working. I tried touching the screen with no response. I ended up pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the engine and restarted it. This rebooted the system and the screen started working again. This has not happened a second time yet. I have not yet received a recall notice on my Lexus app.

If your infotainment screen glitches out, you should be able to reboot it without restarting the car by holding the volume button down. Might help if it glitches out while you're on the highway and you don't want to stop in a dangerous spot.
