Hello All,

I am way new here- I could use some help ASAP. I am leaving a very loaded Bronco (the thrill is gone) and I have just a couple concerns/questions about your GXs.

I am going Lux+. 3rd row was critical for us.

I am going Incognito, possibly Nori if current deal falls through.

My primary concern is around the seats. I have been reading as much as I can but I have only been able to sit in a Premium + and I thought the seat was great! Then I am reading that there may be some significant differences in comfort level with (ironically) the supposedly nicer seats in the Lux+?

Is this TRUE?

The seat heat issue does NOT appear to be related to the massage seats exclusively.

I think I have made my peace with the other question marks in my mind. This is going to be my 3rd Toyota truck product so I feel like I have a decent handle on the rest.

Many thanks!

FWIW- if you all think this thing is quirky... you should have lived through the first few years of Bronco production...

For the difference in seats, I was sort asking the same question about six months ago, around the time I was about to put down a deposit.

It was hard to tell without actually looking closely a Prem and a Lux model side-by-side. Since these models rarely if ever sit on a dealer's lot (they are almost always sold before they roll off the delivery truck), the likelihood of finding a dealer with both a Prem and a Lux on the lot, and both not pre-sold so you can look at or drive both, is slim to none.

The sales guys I talked to were not really familiar with this level of detail, but one of them (to their credit) said if you need to know we can talk to someone in service and ask if part number is the same for both trim lines. I didn't pursue that, instead went by the spec list in the 2025 MY brochure.

That brochure shows:
  • For front row seats
  • -For the Prem (not +): 8-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats with adjustable headrests.
-- For each jump up in trim line, i.e., Prem+, Lux, Lux+, "Includes [lower trim line] features, and adds or replaces:" Blah blah blah ... The mention of additional features in seats occurs at the jump from Prem+ to Lux, where it says "Front massaging seats" and "4-way adjustable front headrests." I don't think the headrest affect the seats but the mechanicals to make the messaging work may. Or they may just add a part to the existing seat frame that does the messaging.

-For 2nd row seats:
-- Optional heated Captain's chairs start on the Prem+, and are available on Lux and Lux+. So you only get 2nd row Captain's chairs starting on a Prem+.

All this is what I went by, i.e., I concluded from reading the brochure, the front row seats in Prem, Prem+, Lux, Lux+ are all the same with the two differences noted above (headrests and messaging). If I absolutely with 100% certainty needed to know, I'd ask a service or parts dept., or ask a sales guy to dig deeper.

The OT is reported to be a different beast, however. In this thread (lexusgxforum.com/threads/gx550-overtrail-vs-luxury-plus-comparison.2300), an owner who has both an OT and a Lux+ in his household, husband and wife, says "... initial impression is correct, and that the seats in the Overtrail have more cushion than those in the Lux +. Maybe it’s due to the Lux + having the massaging mechanicals below the seat covers. I don’t know for sure...". That thread is a great write up, BTW. Edit to add: I see you already posted in that thread.

Did you see my answer in the other thread where you posed this question? I think you'll be fine, either way.
