Nope, our dollar is worth about 65% of yours. And yes our country is broken.Probably easier and cheaper to just order it from Houston and have it shipped to you. Canada sounds like a broken place.
I think if your wait time will be OK if you can be a little loose with your colour choice, as options are rather limited with trim limes in Canada. You only real choice would be the colour, you may be bumped up if someone in front of you dropped the line.I’ve just put a deposit on a 2026 in the Montréal area and the dealership told me that I should receive my GX before June. I’m a little worried right now after reading your post…Any other people are experiencing the same?
Thanks for giving me hope! I really, really love the Earth color, so I hope I’ll be able to get mine with the specs I'm looking for ; OT+, Earth exterior colour and black interior (I can be flexible for the interior...). To be honest, I don’t really understand how the allocation process works. I’ve put down a deposit on the car—Lexus/Toyota receives the order, and then what happens? Toyota need to say yes?I think if your wait time will be OK if you can be a little loose with your colour choice, as options are rather limited with trim limes in Canada. Invest in a good aftermarket alarm system with hood lock, ignition kill, and backup battery siren. That should stop 95% of car thieves.Question for the US GX550 owners... I've read about the the insane theft issues in Canada and UK. I'm on the wait list for a Lux+ in the Atlanta metro area and curious if theft is a problem in the US. Has anyone had one stolen?
Well, I found the best deterrent is still physical obstruction, like a garage or physical barrier that prevent thefts access the vehicle or get away. Either way, the issue is prevalent now. I heard it is even spreads to Japan and Australia now.Question for the US GX550 owners... I've read about the the insane theft issues in Canada and UK. True, if a car thief is desperate enough, he will find a way to steal your vehicle. But the whole point of anti-theft devices is that you want to make it as difficult as possible that will persuade the thief that his effort is not worth it.Have not heard of any GXs stolen, but I've heard of some LC250s for sure.
I'll bring a concept from the motorcycle world - the best way to prevent theft from affecting you is to have comprehensive insurance. Any deterrent measures purely stop thefts of opportunity where people prowl the streets and see your car as an easy target. If somebody really wants your car specifically, there's nothing you can buy to stop them from taking it.
