Friday 10/16/26 I expressed interested in a new GX 550. My local Lexus dealership is about 7 miles away. I am very friendly with my service advisor and I texted him. He said "take one of our loaners for a few days and see how you like it." I picked up the loaner on Monday 10/19/26. I had it for two days (a Premium +) and really liked it but then saw the Luxury + (it was being prepped for pick up from a customer) and new it checked off a lot of boxes for me and felt like it was the best fit. Sadly, my local dealership did not have any more Lux + available . He also could not get one from another dealership because they had none to trade. My salesman put me on a waiting list stating "I check every day. If I see the white pearl Lux + I will put your name on it ASAP". I have purchased 3 cars from him in the last 7 years.
Thursday 10/22/26 So then I did my own detective work by going on the Lexus.com website and searching inventory for local dealerships within a 200 mile radius. 9 dealerships wherein the search. ONE of them had the white pearl with black interior Lux+ GX. I contacted the dealership who had the GX (it was 140 miles away). Gave them my info, we negotiated a good trade value for my 2024 BMW X5 M Sport package and I found myself driving to the dealership that afternoon.
I arrived safely to the dealership. Less than 2 hours later I was driving home with my new 2026 GX Lux + in white pearl and black interior.
WAITING TIME: For me - 6 days from expressing interest, taking a 2 day test drive then calling and finding the right model for me.
I know some people are on a waiting list for a long time.
