“Shadow” GX 550 on rte 12 in Utah (1 Viewer)

I recently completed one of the all-American scenic byways in Utah: State Route 12, from Bryce Canyon to Torrey, UT.

This is an entirely paved route that winds through more topographically different types of rock and terrain than I’ve ever seen in one location:

• red rock
• lava flows
• mesa
• buttes

…just to name a few…I don’t even know the proper names for them all.

I highly recommend you make the time to add this road to your journey - its mind blowing and none of these pictures do it justice.

I’m definitely gearing up my GX for some off-road camping in spring of 2026 and Utah is high on my list.

Utah will end up being my first state for it given wife and I will also be picking up a Bean trailer in SLC sometime in March.

We’re stoked.
