🛠️ What did you do in your GX today? (5 Viewers)

🛠️
I've seen this thread pinned on a lot of other forums I've been a part of in the past and it's a good way to share what you've done with your rig for the day. Could be a mod, an adventure, anything.

I'll start.

Today had 22" Vossen HF-7 on 285/45 Nitto Terra Grapplers mounted and installed.
Excuse the dirty car, lots of rain in the PNW

Oil and filter change at 2500 miles at Lexus dealership for $76.
Pretty cheap.
Will do another one at 5,000 miles and then every 5,000 miles.

Killing time while waiting for a job to wrap up in Prescott Valley, AZ. A quick 40 miles of offroad between Jerome and Chino Valley. Incredible views of Sedona, Flagstaff and the snow-covered San Francisco Mountains, and Prescott.

@Bluegill question about the window tint on yours: did you tint the front windows? if so at what percentage? i thought the middle and rear windows are factory tinted with the same dark shade, but it looks different on yours - yours have the rear windows very dark but the front and middle look like at the same shade.

TIA!

His windows are down in that photo.

I returned from another long distance CO-VA-CO trip, generally driving pretty fast speeds. 😬. I’ve now logged a quick 10,000 miles on the GX since delivery mid December!

I had the Slee SliderSteps installed last Friday. They work great, they look great, very happy to get that done. No longer need to use a mini step stool for some of my copilots! 😀

EDIT: I also lowered tire pressure on the new Terra Grappler G3’s (SL) down to 30-31 psi cold. Once warmed up they read about 34-35. (readings per the TPMS). This dramatically reduced my OT’s vibration, which matches the result others here have seen. I’m way, way happier now; vast majority of the ‘chopiness’ has disappeared.

Looks great! I see you swapped the tires. Are they the stock size?

Thanks!
No, I went one size up (width) to 275/70 R18. The truck looks better for sure. No discernible change to handling, steering, noise, acceleration. The ride..to me..feels more secure. Before I put the Slee SliderSteps on..I could notice the slight increase in step in height.
You can see a few more notes in the “Member Build CB OT+ build”.

During my quick visit to Slee Offroad last Friday I snapped a few pictures of their GX550 project, demo vehicle. I wasn’t able to look inside. It did give me a bit closer look at the ARB rack they carry.

Constant cleaning battle going to change over to summer tires and got to get better terrain tires before venturing into the rock roads. Really like the vehicle still have a LOT to learn about it as operator in charge.

Only rock sliders left to add. I did the westcott roof rack last week. Offroad Elements in Abington, MA finished the wheel package yesterday and sent me these pics. Install is perfect, no rub, slight road noise with the new tires but nothing crazy. Went the method 703 & toyo OC route a la @Bluegill. Very happy so far! Trying to figure out if I have pretapped holes or not so I can order the correct westcott sliders.

Yeah, that thing looks mean!

Added Peak4x4 rack, replaced original rails and adjustable cross bars. Test for wind noise today. 🇦🇺

That looks really nice, interested to hear how the wind test went. I checked out the installation guide and it looks fairly straightforward, did you have any issues? Shipping cost to the states is surprisingly low, under $150 for 5 day delivery (understanding manufacturing times are many weeks). If you are able, could you post a picture from the side at eye level? Thank you!
