So I decided to pull the trigger and add myself to Munkeeboi’s bug deflector (bonnet protector) list.
Here’s my calculus:
1. Bug deflection improves visibility during certain times of the year by modifying airflow and directing bugs and other small debris higher and possibly over the windshield .. this ALONE is a very valid reason to install this product. The front windshield of the GX is a bug magnet like no other vehicle out there!
2. The deflector won’t deflect rocks and larger / heavier bugs from impacting the windshield - but will protect the leading edge of the hood. (Again - a good thing).
3. It looks handsome - (At least it doesn’t make the front look bad… by this I mean - it’s not a front end hood diaper
)..4. It’s a lexus product - though only found down under for some unfathomable reason..
5. If after a few months you don’t like it, there are plenty of folks on the forum who will buy it from you, with an acceptable depreciation.
6. I’ve run out of affordable things to add..
- kidding .. I still want that $$$ front bumper and winch at some juncture. Also fridge / freezer ..7. Over time I think
- mine may start to look naked without it .. but frankly she still looks beautiful as is..
