This is insane... Does everyone follow their scheduleCorrect. They only change the oil at the 10k complimentary service. 5k is more of an inspection.
Many people choose to change the oil out themselves before 10k.This is insane... Does everyone follow their schedule
DittoI had mine changed at 1,000 and will again at 5,000, then 5k intervals.
Most of the engine/oil tech folks say to get rid of the break-in oil at around 1000 miles, and then regularly change at 5K miles. Once the engine is broken in well, you may do alright at 10K. But the Car Care Nut says to regularly change oil at 5K, as does Bob Is The Oil GuyI feel pretty certain you are good to 10K
It's not the base oil, it's the additive package that won't last 10k. Do what you want but I suggest reading the recommendations for this vehicle in other countries where the EPA is not involved.Lexus engineers, while obviously not perfect, are pretty good. With full synthetic oil, I feel pretty certain you are good to 10K. But now I will likely go every 5k as well, just for tire rotation.
It's a car dealership....negotiate!I'm about to get my first complimentary 5k service the Lexus dealer and noticed that they are not changing oil at 5k.
Is this normal?
