AirDownGearUp SS1: Drawer, Kitchen, Storage and Sleeping Platform Systems for GX550 (1 Viewer)

Can y'all please make a half-height 2 drawer system with locks? Take a truck vault and make it nicer! Some of us just want carbine and basic equipment storage for our mall crawler without losing so much vertical space!

That is certainly good feedback! We can definitely entertain a drawer-only, lower height system if we're seeing more and more demand for a product like that.

That's a great question! We'll have to reach back out and try to track that down! One thing we have observed with our own Dissent Armor is that they are surprisingly light weight. Often only marginally heavier than the factory stuff coming out.

We haven't weighed that exact GX550 configuration for our system, but that kitchen + drawer in other vehicles weighs about 140 pounds.

Any chance of doing a drawer system that would give the other builds (Premium and Luxury) with the 3rd row seating folded down?

I think you'd sell a ton of them built like this, especially with as little storage as the 550 has.

I'd love to have that for my Lux - but depthwise just to the back of the 2nd row seats. Debating building my own.

Same, exactly what I want for the Wife's OT+. Just need it built with a flip up side panel to allow you to still access the compressor.

Question for any '25 OT owners with this ADGU setup! The nice folks at ADGU have sent me a vid showing the flip up wing, but I have the impression the design is for the '24 OT model without the compressor. Does anyone with a '25 have real world experience with this? I'm keen on this system, but that accessibility is my one hesitation. Thanks!

I agree. I would love drawers, but not so tall. Just room for personal protection items, recovery gear, parts and tools!

For those of us who don't have an OT (Lux or Premium), give the Yakima MOD system a look. I added a MOD Base (Size large) and a MOD Topper (size large) to mine. Anchors to the tie-down rings, no drilling. I did need to place a riser under the base legs closer to the rear of the vehicle due to the uneven nature of the platform when the rear seats are folded down. I also added some tool box liner material inside the drawers to reduce sliding and noise.

Hi Everyone! A quick update on our system: We have (finally!) been able to get a few pictures showing how our system provides full access to the OEM air compressor.

There's enough clearance to run the standard OEM hose kit, so full utilization of your air compressor is still capable with the ADGU drawer system in place.

Realizing we have not done a great job keeping up with this forum! We worked with a customer earlier this year on a (very) low height system to allow them to run two dog kennels. Essentially, this was the absolute lowest that we could go and still have a mechanically-functional drawer.

This system results in a drawer that has 3inches of vertical height. For this particular customer, the primary focus was running two full sized kennels, so we stripped the system down as much as possible to fight for every millimeter of height. We have this product listed on the website, so you can actually purchase this exact configuration. (link below)

During this process we also developed a system that was essentially flush with 2nd row seats when folded. At this height we were able to maintain all of our standard features (cutting board, slide out table). That height was still too tall for the kennels, but a system of that nature would also be possible.

What is everyone more interested in, the stripped down 'super low' height drawers or a more featured 'low' height system?

QUESTIONS:

1. Cost of the low drawer system?
2. Size of those Gunner Kennels ?
3. Sleeping system compatibility?
4. Forum discounts on your products?
5. Installation partners in areas?

working through your questions:
  1. Cost: That system as shown is $3800
  2. Kennel Size: Those are two 'Intermediate' gunner kennels and they BARELY fit (they are gigantic)
  3. Sleeping Systems: in the 'ultra low' there is no sleeper compatability, but in a 'low' system you would have a sleeper option. The 'low' would go level with the seat backs and utilize our standard convertible sleeper
  4. Forum Discount: We aren't currently running any forum discounts, but could certainly entertain something like a group-buy if several people were interested in a low/ultra low system
  5. Installation partners: We have an emerging network of dealers/installers throughout the country. Where are you located? We can see if that is in the area of one of our existing dealers.

That low profile is pretty cool. Bravo for working with a customer on their specific needs.

The rub is that I'd want the top deck to be high enough to line up with the folded rear seats so you can throw a sleeping pad on and be level, but I don't want to have to rear cargo load floor that's permanently higher (thinking about my back and the fact that I'm getting older, not younger). You can't have your cake and eat it too!

How about the Ultra Low Profile with little electric motors that raise the top deck on 4 pistons until the deck is even with the rear seats? LOL - if money was no concern!

This is what I am interested in. Flush with 2nd row folded seats like the picture below, but with a drawer system.

Definitely an interesting thought! There are certainly means of accomplishing that. That not anything we currently have available, but something we could entertain.

We have a system for 3rd Row GX550's as well!

For the 3rd row models, we remove all of the associated 3rd row components and create a structural mounting system. The 3rd row is simply added weight and a loss of available overhead height above the system, and would be completely inaccessible with our system installed so we pull it out completely.

We create a non-structural HDPE floor plate for noise/heat mitigation, and then mount our solid-aluminum anchor bars directly to the 3rd-row mounting OEM threaded holes.

We have this system available with our typical convertible sleeping platform, so you can still leave your 2nd row seats in place and extend the sleeper as needed.

I've attached a link to the website listing for this configuration below, as well as a youtube link where we discuss this 3rd row system in more detail.
