I recently had episode of starting engine and car wouldn’t go in reverse.
I noticed check engine oil light and no bars were visible on oil gauge!
I checked oil level on dip stick and it was good.
Got back in car and started engine without issue.
I stopped by dealer and they did a complete check and found no recorded incidents!
Unfortunately I didn’t take a photo to document issue
Hopefully it won’t happen again!!

What oil gauge are you talking about?

PSA - I strongly suggest that everyone should grease up the O-ring and surrounding area on the oil dipstick soon if not done already. What happens over time is water from spray or condensation can work its way down into the steel dipstick tube and corrode it badly enough so you will not be able to pull it out. The recommended option for its subsequent removal is to try and pry out the dipstick using a rod thru the finger hole. If it breaks off then a small hole can be drilled into the stub into which a deck screw can then be inserted and grabbed onto well enough to yank it out. Don't ask me how I came across this procedure.

I have a 2024 TRD Pro and a 2024 Lexus GX Luxury +, I haven’t had any issues with the Lexus other than the brake squeaks when on reverse, I usually change the disc when it’s due anyways, the Lexys is obviously more comfortable, but the drivetrain on the 4Runner is 2nd to none, the reason I bought it before they changed it.

My OverTrail shows a build date of 12/24. It's a 24 not a 25 and I haven't had any issues except for a very slight hood flutter at the rear of the hood at high speeds. I just did the 5,000 mile service and they said my VIN doesn't need the hood flutter fix as it was installed at the factory. I changed the oil at 3,000 and will change it again at 6000. At 3,000 I opened the oil filter and it was very clean. I guess I got a good one.
