Hey all! I put together a quick DIY video on how to change the oil in the Lexus GX 550.
The shops nearby me wanted nearly $200 for the job but was able to do this under 30 mins for about $40.
Check it out, hopefully it can save you some money too!

Appreciate it!! Thanks for that spec, I was looking for the skid one but missed it, might do an updated edit with that mentioned as well!^ Agree, very nice.
And extra nice work on listing the exact torque specs, you got them correct. The torque spec for the skid plate is 21 ft-lbs, this from toyota repair manuals I can access via my local library.
I noticed you did not mention removing the oil dip stick. Was that on purpose?
I especially appreciate you show this without using a lift.
I suspect the dipstick doesn't matter. But I remember from long ago people used to say removing it takes away one more possible point of suction-surface tension relief causing oil to stay in the engine.Appreciate it!! As for the dip stick check, unfortunately I just forgot to film that step. If I get time I might try to edit that step in. Thanks for the feedback!

Here's some helpful specs from the Auto Repair Source manuals. For the record, I don't think posting these snips will violate any T&Cs or copyrights.

No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly is Toyota/Lexus speak for "skid plate."
