Is anyone else experiencing a vibration when stopped at a light or idling in drive?
I have a 2024 GX550 Luxury+ with under 3,000 miles and there is a constant low-frequency vibration whenever the engine is idling. It happens in drive, neutral, and park. You can feel it through the seat, steering wheel, and floor. If you place a water bottle anywhere in the cabin, you can clearly see the water rippling. It feels like the whole vehicle is being gently shaken.
This has been happening since the vehicle had zero miles. I’ve only used premium fuel since day one, so it’s not a fuel quality issue.
It literally feels like the truck is going to stall. Like it needs a tune-up or the air and fuel mixture in a carburetor is off — even though that’s not something you can adjust on modern engines. But that gives you an idea of how rough it feels. Honestly, it reminds me of a 1990 Dodge Ram with 175,000 miles, not a $90,000 luxury SUV.
For comparison, my 2020 Dodge Durango V6 with 80,000 miles does not do this at all. It even has an automatic stop-start system at stop lights and still manages to stay smooth with no vibrations and no stall-like behavior.
I’ve brought it to the Lexus dealer multiple times but they claim it's normal. I also had it inspected by a Lexus/Toyota specialist who confirmed the issue and recommended I return to the dealer.
Here is a video showing the idle fluctuation at the stop light:
Would appreciate hearing from others with the same issue or if anyone has heard back from Lexus about it.
