Made for function, although their welds are work of art. Oem would crumple/fall apart if you thrashed it offroad. Does add weight, but that is necessary tradeoff given materials used

Just brought her home. Unfortunate that the entire freeway network in the Bay Area was an utter disaster, but the silver lining is I got to spend extra time in the new rig. I’ll do a more detailed write up tomorrow, but I’ll share a pic of the finished product and say I am ecstatic with how it turned out. All the credit to Dissent Offroad, what an outstanding company and group of people. Really tempted to buy a Tacoma this weekend lol. Outside of the minor noise that accompanies portal axles + additional road noise with larger tires, I think the driving experience is much better, and I can’t wait to run it through its paces offroad.
