Both the 29 gallon replacement tank, and the auxiliary tank ideas sound great on paper. And will certainly make further adventures with heavier rigs (drawing more petrol) more feasible.

I would certainly take that step if it was on my FJ100 which is something like 240,000 miles over its warranty.

But I would be concerned that a major component change / modification could void the Toyota warranty.

It’s hard to say how these tanks will hold up over time, and safety is at least a consideration (though YL assured me that extensive crash testing had been done for their approved installation outside of California. )

I’m excited to see the experiences that our more adventurous and experienced members will take..
