Luxury + lift (1 Viewer)

Tried a search with no luck. I ordered a Luxury + several months back and dealer called with delivery tomorrow. I called local tire shop who states there isn't a lift kit for luxury + yet. Yes, I am totally ignorant when it comes to cars even though I've been a Land Cruiser fan for years. Daily driver is still a 2013. Had anyone heard or know of any options for a lift?

I went to multiple shops, which told me that there was no leveling kit for the Luxury+ models. I was not interested in doing an entire suspension upgrade, was only looking for 1.5” in the front. Bummed

Have you talked to Peak Suspension about their lift kits? There's not indication on their website that they are specific to any particular GX550 trim.

Yes, 4WP (4 Wheel Parts) confirmed that there were no lifts “tested” for a luxury+ GX and was no guarantee that there would not be a warning light. As a result, none of my local shops to want to do the work. Not to mention, I'm not willing to risk this until it is supported.

Does the Wescott leveling kit only work for the Overtrail? Granted, not a "lift" kit.

Never heard of 4WP, but I'd check with the actual manufacturers like Peak or Westcott (or if you want a proper lift companies like King or ICON).

There have been many Luxury trim GX's lifted on Westcott spacers. There should be no reason the peak suspension spacers or any other one's won't work.

As mentioned above, the standard offerings from Westcott or Peak Suspension should work fine on a Lux+.

Regarding the leveling kits, both a smaller two-location independent shop and the larger 4 Wheel Parts location said to have spoken to reps from most, if not all, of the companies listed above. The smaller shop refused to do the work, while the other strongly advised against it.

Both said that the Overtrail versions would work.

I’m in CA too and many local 4wd places shat on any type of spacer kit and wanted to sell me a full kings or Icon suspension set up. Up to you on who you want to believe but I’d say there are several thousand actual owners running these on GX’s and Landcruisers with no issues. Some of the largest Lexus and Toyota dealerships are installing the spacer lifts on the vehicles as well. If you are in So cal, I can refer you to some smaller independent installers who can install it for you once you want to take the plunge.

Additionally, 4WP in Van Nuys gave me a quote to install the Wescott spacers on my non-OT GX so it’s definitely not a corporate thing.

its probably because of the KDSS suspension.
