Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice before ordering parts for my 2026 Lexus GX550 Luxury+ with factory AVS suspension.

This is my daily driver. I drive about 95% on-road and only do occasional dirt roads, so I want to keep the factory ride quality as much as possible.

My current plan

  • 2026 GX550 Luxury+
  • Factory AVS
  • Westcott Preload Collar Lift (2.5" front / 0.75" rear)
  • Vossen HF6-1
  • 22x9.5 wheels
  • Toyo Open Country R/T tires

My questions

  1. What wheel offset would you recommend for this setup?
  2. Would you choose 285/55R22 or 275/55R22?
  3. Can 285/55R22 fit without body cutting?
  4. Is minor plastic liner trimming enough?
  5. Does anyone have this exact setup on a Luxury/Luxury+?
  6. Any rubbing at full steering lock or during suspension compression?
  7. If you were building this again, would you change anything?

I'm looking for the cleanest OEM+ look while avoiding unnecessary cutting.

Photos of your setup and wheel/tire specs would be greatly appreciated.

If you had to do it again, would you still choose 22-inch wheels, or would you switch to 20-inch wheels? Why?

Thanks!

Another Lux+ owner here. I chose a different path but I can answer some of your questions.

1. Vossen offers HFX-1 offsets for 22s in +20 and +30. Both will fit. +20 will need a little more trimming and poke out 10mm more.
2. 275s with +30 would yield the setup that needs the least amount of trimming.
3. Yes. Front bumper will need to be trimmed in the lower corners.
4. Wheel well liner can be heated up and reformed for clearance (minimal). Crash plate behind each front wheel will need to be removed (easy and well documented here and elsewhere).
5. Vossens are a popular choice. I've seen a few HFX-1 in 22s personally in the Portland metro area. Lots of forum and FB group posts, but if you want to see more media, check out Hurst Autoplex's Instagram, they've pumped out quite a few GXs with Westcott/Vossens.
6. There shouldn't be.
7. I'd recommend driving a GX with a Westcott lift, many like the ride quality or don't notice much difference. Personally I thought it was stiff on road and didn't like the idea of taking it on some of the rugged rocky trails in my area.
