💵 For Sale Negative Experience with IntrinoX/BBO Offroad (1 Viewer)

I normally don't like leaving negative reviews for vendors unless absolutely warranted but in this case I was left with very little options. Here's my experience dealing with Ray otherwise known as IntrinoX/BBO Offroad.

Summary of events:

• Placed order for one Volk ZE40X 17x8 +20 Bronze on Sept. 05, 2025 (I already have four wheels, imported from Nengun)
• Price was $815 which included duties and shipping (Payment of $665 was made at time of order and $150 when item was shipped)
• Wheel was shipped on Nov. 20, 2025 and balance of $150 was paid
• Wheel arrived in Oakland on Nov. 26, 2025 and held in Customs
• Fedex contacted me to get HS-7 form, Contacted Ray who said he would take care of it.
• Fedex called again on Dec. 1, 2025 requesting HS-7 form
• I filled the form and sent it back to Fedex via Docusign
• My original thought about going with Ray was to save me the aggravation of dealing with import forms and such
• Turns out I went through the exact same scenario with import forms buying from Ray
• With HS-7 form filled and received by Fedex, they promptly charged me $475.75 for import duties
• Fedex held the package for 30 days even after clearing import duties
• Had to call multiple times and filed a complaint to finally release the package
• To his credit, Ray did assist me in helping to clear the package
• However, I'm still out $475 and when contacted Ray said he would bear the charge if he cannot get Fedex to reverse the charge
• Unfortunately, neither event has occurred so I'm still short the funds
• In hindsight, I could have just ordered from Black Hawk or Nengun and gotten a better experience
• Ray has chosen to no longer respond to my reasonable request of a refund
• I'm sure some of you have had positive dealings with Ray but I can't really say that right now
• Don't choose Fedex if you plan to import from Japan or elsewhere and good luck dealing with Ray

Wow, that sounds like terrible customer service. Sorry you had this experience.

Not a good look since Ray is a supporting vendor on this site. Probably go to get this cleared up.

Ray made things right and if Fedex refunds the import duties I will return the money to him.

@nonamex A frustrating situation and good on Ray for making you whole. I've been hit with a few surprise import fees and every dispute process was a pita.

FWIW I went through IntrinoX/BBO for my wheels and had a great experience. He had enthusiast knowledge that helped me make decisions, and was communicative from initial contact through delivery. I won't hesitate to order from IntrinoX/BBO again.

Sorry you had to go through that, very frustrating but I think this was more than likely a one-off.

I bought a used set ZE40x from him, apparently they were in pretty bad shape which he promptly communicated with me and gave me the option of full refund or getting me a new set. He has always been super responsive and willing to help.

A+ for @IntrinoX/BBO I would not hesitate doing business with him.
