Since meeting up with Yellow lab down in Westlake, I’ve been on a search for the right Molle set up (similar to his) for the right price. YL has a Viking version (super useful, strong and lightweight), but when I looked on line the price was a little further north than I felt should be charged for a single shelf.

While thumbing through older posts on the forum, which I highly recommend for all newer members who have joined in 2026, I came across Tig’s build from 2025. His post included some molle adds to the rear of his vehicle from”cartrimhome” (very similar to Yellowlab’s shelf made by victory.)

I followed the link in his post, where I found their products at 30% off retail. I reached out to the manufacturer and they slapped on an additional 10% off. 🙂 👍🏽

Here’s the link I used for 30% off on their site - plus an additional 10%…..

I personally I am starting off with the side shelves, storage areas and a single horizontal rear Molle shelf like the “victory” one in YL’s rig. I may add other components if I see the need.

From Tig’s old post - he appeared to be happy with this product: “strong and functional. “ - I will post pictures and my post installation review once completed.

Build philosophy:

Every smiling bright eyed GX owner on this forum wants to add stuff to customize their GX’s - ornamenting something they treasure - ☺️ when I met YL and NoNameX in person I immediately recognized that we all shared that same glimmer! Jonathan (a newer owner on the forum, said it best when sharing about his new purchase and adds -“I love this thing more everyday.” ) - I feel the same! And with each personalized add that bond becomes even stronger.. ☺️

The general philosophy I’m taking as I add features to my GX 550 is 1. limiting the additional weight that I add; 2. Optimizing aesthetics (which are important to me. 3. maximizing both utility and versatility for MY specific needs, and 4. doing the above at the lowest possible cost (both of the adds themselves, and the impact of ANY add on gas consumption.)

Apart from this, I’m living vicariously through all these great builds that surpass my own!

Our old landcruiser is the “heavy additions” rig in our family .. (RTT, heavy custom steel roof rack, and possibly one day front and rear bumpers, rear hitch mounted wheel etc - which I will leave to my son to continue).

I’m keeping my GX - higher speed and lower drag 😉

A blessed and productive day to everyone. I’m eager to get out from under my charting and go crawl SLO instead!

Happy and safe 4th everyone - ⭐👍🏽to another 250 years of preserving and celebrating freedom, pluralism, diversity and democracy ☺️.. 🇺🇸 ..
