Does it also cover the center dif? That’s the part I’m concerned about. Though you make a good point on the weeds getting near the cats or exhaust.

It doesn't cover the center diff, but the ground clearance for the diff is 12.6" and for the skid plate near the diff it is 12.0"

For anyone that has installed the NYTOP or other cat shield, can it be done with the car in the ground or does it need to be lifted? I have a Premium+ coming next month. Thanks.

For my 2025 Overtrail I could install it without jacking up the car.

For my 2025 Overtrail I could install it without jacking up the car.

And I was able to install it on my 2024, which is supposed to be 1" shorter, without jacking it up.
However, it took me longer than I expected, because I had to wrestle with getting a couple of those bolts lined up, inserted and then tightened.

Far easier with jack stands but installation can be done with the vehicle grounded.

I crawled under my OT to see how accessible the cats are. Very. Since I have the capability to weld aluminum, I plan to add wings onto my OEM skidplate ASAP. I don't do serious off-road driving hence the stock skidplate unit should be just fine. I'll post pics when complete.

Drove up a set of ramps and Installed. It can be done off the ground but 8” of extra clearance never hurt.

Had mine installed this AM, local shop (don’t trust myself with jacks, etc; no ramps on hand..). Loctite used. New and old (now stashed in garage attic), few other pics.

Installed my Catalytic cover tonight tonight - very straight forward. Superior protection over the thin Lexus OEM plate. I drove the front onto 3" ramps - perfect amount of clearance to be able to work under there. The fitting is very good - but you will have some muscling to do when you attach the first two rear bolts. After that it was like Marisa Tomei from 'My cousin Vinnie' where I had to apply maximum torquage - on the two different bolts. Was actually nice to get the hands dirty and see what's going on underneath there.

It would have cost me more in my own time and material to make those compared to buying it outright from NYTOP, but I like the ingenuity.

I agree. Aluminum isn't inexpensive anymore but, as a retiree, my time spent keeping my welding skills active was well worth it.
