Offroading In So Cal (1 Viewer)

Somehow I haven’t been getting notified of these latest posts. I’m good for Saturday 10/4 wherever you all want to meet. Not interested in trails that are going to do damage to my truck. Thought we could start out kind of easy and go from there.

Let's meet at the parking lot in front of REI and Best Buy in Tustin. Address is 2962 El Camino Real, Tustin, CA 92782.

I don't think we have the time to head to trails after meeting since most of them are pretty far from Tustin.

I would suggest we meet in Tustin on 10/04 at 10:00 am like Seaweed mentioned and make a list of trails to tackle in subsequent months. Perhaps Anza trails like Pumpkin Patch, Truckhaven, Canyon Sin Nombre in late October, then Trona in November, Alabama Hills in December.

I'm going to Colorado next summer to tackle Engineer Pass, Ophir Pass, Cinnamon Pass, Hurricane, Imogene, and California Pass. Maybe some of you guys can join me in this adventure.

Looking forward to meeting up with others here. On a side note, did a little wheeling this weekend up around Lone Pine. This trail took us up into the canyon to a trailhead of an epic hike with spectacular views. The drive was not the most technical, but it sure handled better on road than my old Jeep. There were several spots on this trail where I was impressed with the articulation. Amazing vehicle.

Looks like a great adventure. Thanks for sharing. What off-road trail did you use and what is the name of the hike? I love the Eastern Sierras too. We did a trip to Monache Meadows a couple months ago to fish for golden trout in the South fork of the Kern River. The GX did great in stock form. Monache Meadows is south of Lone Pine out of Kennedy Meadows.

Tuttle Creek Trail was the hike. It ends at an abandoned ashram that was built in the 1930's. The dirt to the trailhead is off Granite View Drive. Happy to share the waypoint info if you want to DM me.

Thanks. I didn’t know what an ashram was and looked it up. Amazing as must not have been easy to build having to haul materials up into the mountains. Looking forward to meeting other members and learning about places to explore like this one.

Just confirming meeting up 10/4. I'm in who else is planning to attend. Looking forward to meeting you all and starting off road adventures. The last place suggested was the parking lot in Tustin at 10:00 AM. If your planning on meeting up let's confirm who's coming
