Offroading In So Cal (2 Viewers)

I had some changes of plans with friends and unfortunately will be out of town during the trip time posted. I'd like to join for future items hopefully, thanks for the invite!

Some of us just completed our first offroad adventure at Anza Borrego. We took Arroyo Salado to 17 Palms, 5 Palms then Tule Wash to Pumpkin Patch Rocks. Four GXs and one Tacoma made the journey. I like to think it was memorable for all of us. More journeys to come.

My wife and I came along. The pictures are of our clean trucks being aired down at the start of the trek. None of them finished up that clean. It was a lot of fun and great to get to know some of our members better. Finished up with a great meal in Borrego where we began to plan our next adventure.

Looks like a great time, I look forward to catching the next run with folks! Glad to see someone brought a Tacoma to substitute me missing out in mine. Love the pictures!

We have another run tentatively planned for January 10, 2026. It’ll be in Anza Borrego again. Contact me if you’re interested in coming. Some more photos.

Heck ya, I will book it on my calendar and avoid booking other trips or having my work potentially randomly schedule things on me also haha. Thank you for the invite :).

Thinking of heading up to the Old Dutch Cleanser Mine and Burro Schmidt Tunnel in March if anyone is interested.

Burro Schmidt Tunnel

Dutch Cleanser Mine

Both are near Red Rock Canyon State Park near Ricardo, California. RRC has a very good camping area - or might even camp in back country.

Respond if you are up for something and I can toss out some dates
I'm always up for travel. Give us some dates and we'll go from there.

I would love to join. Let’s get em dirty.

If you're going to camp at Ricardo you'll need to get there on Thursday to have a shot at securing a campsite since it is first come, first served. Since there is no way I'll be getting there on Thursday, I'll have to camp at a dispersed site either in Jawbone Canyon or Dove Springs.

Most likely arriving on Friday night after work then seek a dispersed site for the night. Visiting Desert Tortoise Research Natural Area as well since I'm in the area.
