Anyone else have a loud and obvious rattle coming from somewhere in the rear of the vehicle when you hit smallish bumps? It’s driving me crazy to find out where it is coming from. I thought it was the seatbelt anchors but have ruled that out as I placed dampeners on those and still getting it. Sounds like the rear seat area but can’t pinpoint it.

Well I think I solved the mystery. It was the seatbelt anchors. I flipped these upside down as temporary fix. I had put some paper behind them when trouble shooting but appears they can rattle even with paper wedged behind them.

Anyone else have this issue?

I’ve noticed the rattling, but discovered it’s only without rear passengers. I think it’s the seats vibrating at low speeds over small road imperfections. Not sure what to do about it but relieved it’s not the rear hatch.

I also have a very annoying metal tick noise coming from the passenger side right above or near the 2nd row pillar or ceiling. Only certain bumps but its a tick sound like something hitting the metal on a bumb. I'm about to try to see if I can take the middle pillar trim off and have the wife drive while I investigate further. I wonder if it could be a tork noise coming from roof rail or something. I hate noises like that. lol

I had that and it ended up being the Lexus first aid kit that was stuck on the back of the second row with velcro, and the zipper pull was tapping against the tonneau cover rail.
Unfortunately its not that. I removed my first aid kit while troubleshooting. Its in the ceiling right above or a foot back from 2nd row seats. It is getting better so maybe its settling down a bit. I'd like to get into the ceiling and check it out but that looks like a job.

I have an Overtrail plus that has been in the shop for the last 5 weeks because of a metal rattle coming from the rear pillar. It was in the shop a couple of times before for about two weeks trying to diagnose the rattle. The sound only occurs when the frame torques from leaving a steep parking lot and warm weather. The car will rattle for hours. Next day nothing. I was told that the frame around the window is welded and glued. The glue weld broke causing the rattle. I think these cars have a major design defect. The car had 4,000 miles on it and it is already falling apart. Just wait until the glue fatigues and fails overtime. I am torn if I should call an attorney to investigate to see if the car qualifies as a lemon.

Any updates on this? I have the metal tapping rattle coming from my rear cabin area even over slow tiny bumps and it’s super annoying.

Same here, anyone get any concrete resolution? My son was in the back seat and said it sounds like it is coming from the C Pilar right around where the seatbelt is located.

Mine has actually gotten better as it warmed up. I hear it more when its cold but since its been in the 60's and 70's, I haven't heard it in a while. I agree it sounds like the c pilar on passenger side near the seat belt or more in the ceiling. I hope mine is gone forever. lol

Same issue and resolution on mine. Took them weeks to figure it out. It’s gone now but worried this will come back. In is temperature dependent. When the car is warm it doesn’t happen.
