1 week owner of a 25 Earth OT with buyer’s remorse.
Mea culpa- I didn’t do adequate due diligence when I decided to buy but now I’m seriously wondering if I can tolerate the AC this summer in South and West Texas.
I didn’t realize that one little vent in the back of the console setting dependent on whatever the front seat is set at so, no bueno for passengers or cooling the cabin while in the Chihuahuan desert.
Yes, I should have gone OT plus, and I will trade out unless some kind soul will assure me it will be alright. Acoustic glass, kick hatch, window shades, and ML sound system would make the upgrade cost a bit less painful.

None of the overtrail models have rear AC, sadly. Even the overtrail+ model has the same dinky vents as yours. You need to look at the road-going Premium or Luxury trims to get rear AC.

Or get an LX, I guess, but IMO that's a considerably worse product than the GX.

Thanks cmfhsu. Im embarrassed that I didn’t even know that. Trim details are limited- I guess the Lexus theory is to force you to go into their sales lair for the deets, but then they haven’t had the inventory for me to kick the tires and become informed.
I love the truck so far otherwise.
So now I’ll see if the Lux+ has what I want (like acoustic glass, capt chairs, interior that’s not all black, etc) and maybe sacrifice L4 and some clearance.

Yeah, I'm really not sure why the OT doesn't come with rear AC in the US, especially because I think other markets can get rear AC.

All trims have acoustic glass except the base Premium and base Overtrail. All trims can be configured with captains chairs except Overtrail models.

Good luck. Love my Luxury+ - it has everything you describe.

AC was no problem for me over the summers of 2024 and 2025. Overhead rear vents would be better, but not a deal killer. I’m in Arizona, I know hot.
Well Bill, that makes me feel a lot better as well. Coming from a 200 that I could hang meat in if needed, this makes me feel real good.

IMHO, it was a complete miss by Lexus/Toyota to leave out the rear A/C vents on the OT/OT+. This summer in the desert S/W, it was tolerable in the back seats, and unfortunately, very uncomfortable for my neighbor's pup in the rear. I almost went with the Sequioa just for the MTS/Crawl Control/L4 and rear A/C vents, but it's just too large of a vehicle for us.

We've had our OT with only the console vents in the rear in Houston for 2 summers now with no issues for keeping the pup cool all decked out in the rear seat even on long 12-14 hour drives. Would never sacrifice the ride going to anything but an OT or OT+, even if I never intended to go offroad. I would love to have one without the coolbox though as we feel that thing jacks up all the AC when on.

Honestly? I think the Premiums have the best ride. The OTs seem to have stiffer rear springs to carry more weight, creating a slightly jittery ride like a HD truck with nothing in the bed. The Luxury models do have pretty bad isolation from small, high frequency bumps because of the tires.
