Do you know where I can get the center Hitch cover only. Lexus wants $200 for the 2 piece cover. i just need the center piece, and there is no way that a piece of plastic should cost $200.

I’m just leaving mine off. Don’t tow often but cracked around where one of those pop out things go. They are to hard to get out.

But it is Lexus plastic after all. Still don’t understand why the European market gets a nice looking cover similar to the Chev Tahoe and the U.S. market gets thus thing?

What I can’t figure out is why Lexus doesn’t make a half cover like this for the GX which every LC gets. They cost @ $40 online BUT don’t fit the GX; I tried.

View attachment 5546I wanted a hitch on my GX550 not necessarily to only tow, but to keep people from hitting the back of it, I just couldn’t take the look it had so I cut the small cover and it looks a lot better

@gvan1998 Did you ever find one? I, too, want a cheap extra one so that I can install an extra break light for better visibility for the car behind me.
I found one on eBay for $150. Still pricey, but as a % of the car price... I immediately cut a hole in it for a hitch-mounted brake light. The only issue: it's hard to put the light into the hitch and secure the pin with all of the plastic moulding in the way. Took from maneuvering.

I've been looking around for a 1/4 turn style Phillips head pop-out fastener to replace those OEM fasteners holding the cover on. They sure would be easier to remove. I've also been thinking of creating a 3D CAD model of a replacement cover that could be printed. Stay tuned.

I am definitely interested in that! Keep me posted, message me about a replacement cover.

Yen,
That looks nice in your 2 pictures. I assume it’s the original cover(s) that you painted, and then cut out that section in the center piece?
Thanks, DJ.
It’s actually the original cover the way it comes, it’s not painted, I cut it and it was super easy to cut with just a blade, very simple to do, I’m not planning to tow anything I just wanted to put the hitch for people to stay way from me parking behind me.
