Got back from a trip a few weeks back where I snatched a friend's rear recovery hook right off the frame using a static recovery rope. We were a bit stupid but he was very stuck and it was getting cold and dark. His car was a 30 yo land cruiser, but no rust. Just bolts that weren't maintained for 30 years and used one time too many with a static rope that had way too much energy.
These recovery points have just two bolts and it's a very small piece compared to the energy you can put into it with a static rope. Make sure to torque them every once in a while and ideally use them with a winch rope, not a static rope.
