Hey Folks,

For those that have bought the Covercraft UVS100 Premier Series Sunshade, how is the fitment of yours?

I purchased one based on the recommendations of the forum and the fitment seems off. There's multiple gaps greater than 1" around the profile of the shade and the window/a pillars/rearview mirror trim. For the price of this shade I figured it would have a better fitment so not sure if mine has a manuf. defect or what. Contacting Covercraft they want me to send it to them to do a fitment check. I'm hoping to hear from some folks in here about how their shade fits before I send it back.

This shade is a bit awkward to place into position, however, the UV/thermal blocking and storage are awesome. Really hoping this is just a defect.

Attached photos show the shade in place (without being moved side to side between photos) as you can see there's large gaps all around.

Edit: Not sure why 2/3 photos are rotated sideways, they're oriented correctly in my photos app.

Edit 2: Adding a few more photos, one of the outside where you can really see the edge of the shade vs the ends of the window and another of the inside where you can see how the sides taper as it goes up to the top of the window.

Yours looks pretty similar to mine. It is harder to get in place than other roll-up type shades I have used in the past, but I figure that's due to the short windshield, grab handles, electronic/sensor pod, etc. making it a tight fit and the rigid panel accordion design of the CoverCraft. Honestly, it's enough of a faff to get it in place as it is that I think it would be impossible if it were any tighter/larger.

Wow awesome! Thanks for sending these photos over, that looks similar to mine. Does yours also "catch" between the dash and the window on the bottom? Almost like it slips in between the crack and sticks.

If I manage to get it flat enough and far forward enough, yes. Maybe there is a trick to it that someone smarter than us will come along and share, but when I put it up it seems like I am fighting with it hitting the grab handles on either side, the dash on the bottom and then trying to manage those two contact points while getting it around the rearview mirror.

That's definitely similar how I have to fit mine in as well, the fitcam x also makes it a little difficult to maneuver around. I'm concerned mine isn't going to last long, I've only had it a few weeks and the bottom is starting to fray where that spot catches between the dash and window.

BTW awesome profile picture!

Timely post! Have one of these in the electronic cart right now! Might try another option.
Honestly, if the fitment was a little better I would be happy. I'm sure there's another vehicle with somewhat similar windshield/interior dimensions that Covercraft just copied and said is "custom" for the GX 550.

The shade itself seems high quality at blocking light/heat (we're heating up here in Charleston) but for the price it should fit better. My previous shades for vehicles had much better fitment and I paid a lot less for them.

Thanks! Yeah, I noticed you had a Fitcam X mounted (recognized it right away since I have one in another vehicle) and that certainly probably makes it a bit more of a charlie foxtrot getting it in there. I remember looking around for something else when I first took delivery of the truck, but there wasn't much available yet.

Mine is similar too. I probably should close my moon roof too, I bet that’s not helping. I have the lux plus with the dimmable sunroof.

Wow yours might be worse than mine on the top, looks like a couple of inches of gap. Thanks for sharing bud.

Also I believe I saw your rig on reddit this week, looks really good with those wheels!

I don't think his is pushed up as far on top as we have ours pushed and he's using the flip down shades to bridge the gap. Prob easier to get in and out that way.

With the fit dashcam, thats about as far as it will let me go up. Unless I go in front of the dashcam and then it’s inches from the window.

I purchased my shade from WeatherTech and it fits almost perfectly to the windshield. No gaps around the edges as shown in the photos. It rolls up nicely and has a permanent velcro band to hold it together, even a case is available if you are feeling "cool" while storing it.
I also purchased their rear cargo mat (brown) for my 2025 Premium + with Captains chairs and it perfectly covers the rear area with the third row folded. WeatherTech recommended the 6 seater version and I couldn't be happier with the fit of both items. You will have to remove the cargo cover if you want to use the third row, but for me and the wife that is not an issue as I don't foresee using that row very much, if at all.

That’s great to hear about the weather tech. Does it get real hot in your region? Curious how it’s doing keeping the heat out.

Glad you posted this. I’ve been waiting

Thanks for the post, I’ve been waiting for someone to make one that allows the space for the front camera. That’s disappointing that yours has the gaps around it.

Yes, it does a good job of keeping the heat out here in Florida. And for the winter you are able to turn it around to have the other side help keep the cold out and heat inside the vehicle. Of course. here in FL it doesn't get cold enough for me to know how well that will work.
