TOYA Open Country AT3 treadware issue

prior posts have stated that Lexus/Toyota have a special Toyo AT3 tire for the OT, which is also used on some Toyota models like the new 4runner TRD Pro. This 265/70 R18 tires has the 116H load speed stamped on these tires, like I have on my 2025 OT. It has shallow tread depth of 10.1. It was obvious to me when I got my OT couple weeks ago. Interesting is that this tire does not appear on Toyo's website for tire options, instead they sell a 265/70 R18 SL with load/speed 116T, and this tires weighs more than the OEM tire, and has more tread depth at 13.3, and a E load. I will prob be changing out to the Toyo E load in same size, it has 16.3 tread depth. See below from Toyota dealer website and you can see the OEM tire spec.

I spoke with a customer representative from Toyo regarding the tire. It has a different DOT # with letters ending with the letter G. I couldn’t find the tire on the DOT website.

Unless you will be offroading a lot and/or towing I would stick with the SL rated tire. Better ride and less weight with SL.
