You have to post some pics. I have to admit, the center console is my least favorite thing about this vehicle. There is no storage in the center console section.

I don't think you can put switches there, unless you get rid of the 12v accessory door, which collapses underneath that panel when open. You might be able to put the switches to the left or right of that area though.
